Perhaps the most important - and comic - rule of the rally says that the vehicle's engine should not exceed 1000cc. In other words, the team should get to Mongolia in a crappy car. The key point of this rule is to show people that cars with small engines, and thus consuming less fuel, can be used for everyday activities, even if they are loaded with more than one passenger.
